Cleaning
- Slide the scoop off.
- Wash both parts in warm, soapy water. Not boiling, and not in the dishwasher.
- Push a pipe cleaner through the bore.
- Let both parts air-dry before you put them back together.
One set per person. Don't share it, and replace it if it cracks.
How it works
The nose
A cut straw or a metal tube ends in a hard rim, and that rim is what scratches. ERAK ends in a rounded bulb that rests at the opening of your nostril, and the narrow neck behind it stops it going further in. It's printed nose-down, so the layer lines run round the bulb.
The scoop
Slide the scoop onto the end and the trough sits just past the tip of the straw. It has walls on every side, the rounded front included, so nothing slides off. Two ribs inside the sleeve run in slots on the straw, which keeps it lined up and on.
Parking it
Pull the scoop off, turn it round and slide it back on. Now it sits along the straw instead of off the end, and the set is back to the straw's own length.
The plate hook
Lay it on a plate with the hook under the rim. The flat sides stop it rolling, and the hook is a wedge, so a thin rim and a thick rim both jam in it.
